Umpire's picnic

Almost there. This year's entry into the inaugural Cricket Prize depicts a classic game of beach cricket - but wait, there's more. In the background are a group of cricket umpires enjoying their annual beach picnic. They can't help but be involved, with waving arms and glances at light meters. The umpire closest to the action keeps a keen eye on proceeding as the batsmen take a cheeky single!

Where would we be without cricket and wonderful art like this to capture the nuances and the fun of the game! Great painting.
