Autumn yachts

This small study painting started off with a watery watercolour wash as an underpainting, then on with the acrylic while it was still wet. I have found that the best way to do clouds is while the sky is still wet and using a large brush. The fluidity of the paint encourages bolder strokes with the brush and a more realistic look.
