There are no prizes for guessing where this is in Adelaide. I was trapped with several other people in the doorway of the Adelaide Post Office during the March deluge. I was there for a good 20 minutes while the rain struck. Every so often I popped outside to take a quick photo.

I haven't witnessed such a downpour as that late afternoon in Adelaide in March. It was unforcast and took everyone by suprice. The streets and its people were recieving a drenching, red and green traffic lights filled the air and pavements with their eerie light.

This is the first of a series of paintings based on photos I took during a deluge in Adelaide one late afternoon in March 2012. For a while I was trapped in the porch of the Adelaide post office with other comuters then I ventured into the streets for some classic wet-weather scenes - I was not disappointed, even though I did get wet!
