We
got to know Mike Barr through the Glenside Lions Art Show where he has
been successfully exhibiting for many years. When we moved house we
relocated most of our art work but we were left with a blank wall in the
lounge room. After settling in and then getting new furniture it was
time to find a painting or 2 to be the focal point of the room. We have
always enjoyed Mike’s series of works with wet pavements in the city and
we began discussing with Mike, mostly via email, what would be
appropriate for this area. Mike produced some ‘samples’ (probably there
is a better word than that) (studies) initially and after approval the
paintings were commenced. Within a month or so we had out new art work
and it is now hanging and we are getting a great deal of joy from the
work every time we walk past. I don’t think anyone has visited and not
seen the new paintings and of course everyone has been very
congratulatory.
Thank you Mike and we look forward to continuing our association through the Glenside Lions Art Show and wish you well in your artistic career.

An essential addition to my consulting rooms (and to my home!) are some seascapes painted by and purchased from Mike Barr. If you can’t get to the beach, you can at least transport your mind and soul there by stepping into the beautiful scenes Mike creates. Make sure to spend some time in the scene, remembering that when you are at the beach, to find the best shells, you need to walk slowly…
The
seashore has to be one of nature’s most potent anti-depressants and I
thoroughly recommend Mike’s seascapes as a way of bringing some of
nature’s beauty and light into your surroundings.

We made contact with Mike after seeing some of his landscape paintings and requested a large painting of one of our favourite south coast beaches.
Mike
responded with some amazing sketches for us to choose from and
proceeded to paint a small version of the sketch of our choice. Mike
then commenced our full sized painting and we eagerly awaited the final
piece.
Mike has an exceptional eye for detail; the reflections, colour and shadows he captures are truly lifelike.
We now have an amazing painting in our living area which becomes a talking point with guests.
Most people can easily recognise the location and comment about the detail in the picture.
Thanks Mike for a sensational piece which we will treasure forever.
